Today’s match day programme ‘The Terrier’ is a special Remembrance game edition!
The copy for the game against Barnsley looks at football during the war. We look in depth at Ralph Shields, a centre-forward who played for Town before and after the suspension of the Football League.
Sticking with the theme, the programme also looks at the guest players that made an appearance for Town, including Jackie Milburn and Jimmy Hagan, as well as a roll of honour for former Huddersfield Town players who lost their lives whilst serving their country.
Elsewhere in today’s ‘The Terrier’, hear from Isaac Mbenza about the impact of his mum on his football career.
Isaac told us how his mum didn’t want him playing football because she wanted him to focus in school, but he didn’t listen(!), and how now his focus is on repaying her.
“All the way through my career she has reminded me how lucky I am, and I think that’s why I set high standards for myself.
“I want to fill her with pride, make her happy and do everything I can to repay her for the decisions she made for me when I was younger.”
You can also find out who Mbenza’s favourite teammate is!
Alongside all of this, you can get all the information on Barnsley, with articles about which of their players you should look out for, and Caretaker Head Coach Adam Murray’s background.
You can get your hands on all of these features in today’s match day programme, which can be bought from the John Smith’s Stadium and the Club Shop, available at £3.50!
