Christopher Schindler on Town’s defensive improvements

- Town’s Captain delighted with the impact of the Cowley brothers
- Defender keen to keep working hard on the training pitch
- Schindler explained why the team have improved in recent weeks

Huddersfield Town Captain Christopher Schindler explained how the team’s understanding has improved since the appointment of Danny and Nicky Cowley.

The management duo has overseen Huddersfield Town for 33 days now and supporters have noted improvements game by game.

After being appointed, the Cowley brothers took the players back to basics, helped their structure and built confidence in the group.

Schindler described how the Cowleys have helped change the dynamic of the team.

“It feels different on the pitch now, it feels solid.

“There’s a base where everybody knows what to do, especially in the defensive shape.

“We are harder to break down, we deflect the crosses a lot better now, but we shouldn’t get too carried away by this because we know how hard we worked to have this run and how much we suffered in the first weeks.

“We have a lot to improve but we can be happy now for the moment.”

Town’s Captain goes on to detail the influence that the brothers have had on the team in the short while they’ve been in charge.

“When Danny and Nicky came in, you could feel that they could do it (change the spirit in the dressing room).

“The way they talk to you, the way they work on things in detail. They are doing a tremendous job and I hope we can progress.

“We still have to work hard.”
