Huddersfield Town striker Karlan Grant said it was a “brilliant feeling” to get himself on the scoresheet in Town’s 2-1 win over Barnsley.

Grant’s eighth Sky Bet Championship goal of the season proved to be the pivotal goal in Town’s win over The Tykes, a win which Town’s No.16 feels was deserved.

“It’s a great win. The first 15 minutes we couldn’t get going, they made it really difficult for us.

“After that, we managed to get into our game and do the game plan that the Manager set out for us.

“We kept going, kept fighting and I think it’s a well-deserved win.

“We want to be hard to beat, that’s the main thing. We were a bit gutted that we didn’t get the clean sheet, but the boys dug deep, and we deserved to win.

“We maximised our strengths today. We knew they’d play a high line and we made a lot of runs in behind and caused them problems.”

Grant was happy to be able to contribute to the team’s win with a goal - his second goal in his last three games.

“I was itching to get a goal today. When I’ve came inside, I see a bit of a space and thought I’d try and bend it in. I didn’t think it was going in, but it managed to bend in nice and quick.

“It’s a brilliant feeling. Scoring’s a brilliant feeling, winning’s a brilliant feeling so we’ve just got to keep going.

“Everyone’s growing in confidence. We’re an attacking team, we’ve got a lot of pace on the counter attack, so we need to try and maximise that as much as possible.

“I think today we did that quite a lot so hopefully we can improve going forward as well.”
