Huddersfield Town winger Elias Kachunga praised Town’s work both on and off the ball following the 3-0 win over Hull City at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Kache completed the scoring on 82 minutes, after Karlan Grant and Juninho Bacuna had found the net, to give Town a comprehensive win on Saturday afternoon.

“The whole team worked so hard again today. It was a brilliant win, from the first whistle (we were) really aggressive against the ball and with the ball we were really calm.

“I think we totally deserved these three points today. We scored three goals, didn’t concede one so it was a brilliant day.”

All three of Town’s goals came in a 14-minute spell during the second half. The winger believes the team played with more poise after the break.

“We played on the counter attack a bit better, (we were) maybe a bit calmer in the box and the final third too.

“We were calm on the ball, waited for our chances and then we put it in the net.”

Kache’s was visibly emotional upon scoring his goal, his first of the season having diverted Lewis O’Brien’s cross onto the crossbar and in.

“The coaching team when they came in, they had their trust in me. The team have had my back as well, it’s been a long time that I didn’t score.

“I always work really hard for the team and today it was an unbelievable feeling for me to score my first goal of the season. Hopefully now more goals are coming.”

Today’s game saw Kache bring up a century of appearances for Huddersfield Town; something he was honoured to bring up in-front of the fans at the John Smith’s Stadium.

“I’m really happy. Especially after the goal, the whole Stadium was behind us, singing my song. I’m always really happy to play at home with these supporters.

“They’re unbelievable to me always, from the first time I came to Huddersfield. I have this great connection with them and I’m really happy today to give them something to celebrate.”
