- A look back at Town’s previous encounters with Brentford
- Includes wins from 2016, 2011 and 1995
- This Saturday will be Town’s last trip to Griffin Park

Ahead of Huddersfield Town’s final ever visit to Griffin Park on Saturday, htafc.com has had a look back at three of the Club’s best wins against Brentford.

Town have enjoyed some memorable wins against Brentford at Griffin Park in recent years.

Here are some of our favourites!

Brentford 0-1 Huddersfield Town – 11/03/2017

It may not have been the most memorable match; however, the win was Town’s 13th in 17 Sky Bet Championship games and one that kept the Club competing at the top of the table.

Rajiv van La Parra scored the only goal of the game. The winger’s clever step-over took him past his man and into the area before he curled an effort goal wards from a tight angle. His strike took a deflection and flew into the back of the net.

Town kept pressing for a second, but goalkeeper Dan Bentley produced some excellent saves to keep it at 1-0.

After the break Brentford had some good chances to draw level. Lasse Vibe should’ve equalised after he met Jozefzoon’s low ball around eight-yards out, but he blazed over before then striking the bar from the edge of the area.

Town kept battling and sent the travelling supporters back home happy with all three points.

Brentford 1-1 Huddersfield Town (3-4 pens) – 17/05/1995

The Terriers beat Brentford in the Division Two Play-Off Semi-Finals.

Neil Warnock’s side drew the first leg 1-1 at the McAlpine Stadium before falling behind in the second leg at Griffin Park. However, Andy Booth’s 30th minute equaliser and a battling performance took the game to penalties.

Despite Pat Scully missing Town’s second penalty kick, goalkeeper Steve Francis became the hero saving spot kicks from both Mundee and Bates before Darren Bullock scored the winner.

Brentford 0-4 Huddersfield Town – 01/10/2011

During the 2011/12 League 1 campaign, Town extended the Club’s unbeaten league run to 36 matches after an incredible performance against the Bees.

Jordan Rhodes put the Terriers ahead after 36 minutes powering a header into the back of the net.

In the second half, Lee Clark’s Terriers went from strength to strength. Striker Lee Novak doubled Town’s lead after latching onto Damien Johnson’s through ball and placing the ball into the back of the net.

Novak then turned provider for Rhodes, who doubled his tally, heading in a cross from close range.

Winger Gary Roberts completed the rout by hammering home an effort after Rhodes’ shot hit the post.
