Club Captain Christopher Schindler believes Huddersfield Town’s win over Brentford was a real statement to the rest of the teams in the Sky Bet Championship.

Karlan Grant scored his ninth goal of the season, just after the hour mark, to earn the Terriers all three points at Griffin Park as Town kept their fourth clean sheet in six games.

Following the win, Schindy explained how big he thought the win was.

“It’s a massive result. I think other teams will look at this and think how can they win there.

“It’s been a tough game for us, we put everything into it, it wasn’t pretty all the time, but you could feel what you could in the weeks before, like there’s a mentality to work for each other.

“I think that had been missing for a long time and now we’ve got it back.”

Town frustrated the hosts at Griffin Park and limited the Bees to any meaningful opportunities, something that the centre-half was delighted about.

“If I digest the game, I don’t think they had too many clear chances.

“They had a header in the second half, which came from Tommy (Elphick). They had a lot of possession, looked good, played nice but didn’t have too many clear chances.

“This is what you do when you play away from home, be solid at the back and find your moments where you can punish them.

“We had a good chance in the first half as well and another half decent one went across the six-yard box, but no-one was there to tap it in.

“Long story short, for me, it was a great, great result. It was a good day for us and for our supporters.”
