Lewis O’Brien wins his second consecutive BWF Player of the Month

Blue and White Foundation members voted Lewis O’Brien as Huddersfield Town’s October 2019 Player of the Month!
When the votes were counted Lewis took the prize, with Juninho Bacuna and Karlan Grant picking up the rest.
The 21-year-old has had an impressive start to the 2019/20 season and has now won the award for consecutive months.
Lewis has become a fans’ favourite and is praised week in, week out for his work ethic on the pitch.
Blue and White Foundation member Craig Holroyd from Elland voted for Lewis and was randomly drawn out to meet him ahead of the Birmingham game on Saturday 23 November 2019.
14-year-old Ben Stopford from Netherton also voted for Lewis and was the Junior Blue and White Foundation chosen to meet the midfielder.
Both Craig and Ben will present Lewis with his Champagne alongside receiving a commemorative signed photo.
When speaking to #HTTV, Lewis was keen to highlight how much winning the award for a second consecutive month meant to him.
“Yeah it’s obviously a great feeling to have the backing of all the fans and be the BWF Player of the Month for the second month. I didn’t expect it coming into this season!
“Having the fans backing is a great feeling for the whole team, not just for me.
“It’s our 12th man, it helps us get into the game and it’s been helping a lot these last six games which is why I think the form’s been so good.”
Lewis was also keen to explain the impact that the Cowleys’ attention to detail has had on his game.
“I think since they’ve come in, I’ve improved every aspect of my game massively and I think they’ve improved every player since they’ve come in no matter what age they are.
“We’ve all been improving, and it just shows how good-a managers they are.
“We get league tables on the matches that we do in training, passing drills, and it makes you want to be in the top 11 because if you’re not in the 11 you don’t know where you are.
“It gives you that emphasis to be better in training the next day.”
All the money generated from the £2 a week that Blue & White Foundation members pay goes straight to the Huddersfield Town Academy, where Lewis progressed through!
