Jon Gorenc Stanković was left frustrated after Huddersfield Town’s 1-1 draw with Birmingham City.
In what was a tight game, Town went ahead through Fraizer Campbell early in the second half but were unable to hold on for all three points conceding from a set piece.
When speaking after the game, the defender was disappointed with the result.
“I think we are all a little bit disappointed because the goal they scored was a set piece. I think we deserved more. At the end it’s a point and we didn’t lose, we got a point and that’s positive.
“When a game is like this every little mistake, every good situation will decide a game.
“We scored a beautiful goal, it was an amazing pass from Trevoh and Fraizer put it in. We were on top of them a deserved more than a point.”
This was Jon’s first Sky Bet Championship start of the season and he was delighted to be back on the pitch.
“It was amazing (to be back in action). I played 60 minutes in Preston and it felt good. I just need games, so I’m really happy and thankful for it.
“I see this as an opportunity, so I will grab it and hold on to it. It means everything to play for Huddersfield Town.
“Every player wants to play week in, week out. No-one wants to just train and work hard. Everything is on the pitch in games, so this means everything.”
It’s a short turnaround in games for Huddersfield Town as the Terriers are back on home soil again against Swansea City on Tuesday evening.
The defender explained how he feels when walking out on to the pitch at the John Smith’s Stadium.
“I think it’s now a fortress, everyone who comes here will fear us. We have to show them, be aggressive like we were in this game.”
