IMPORTANT MINUTES IN THE LEGS OF FIRST TEAM PLAYERS

5 November 2019

Town drew with Bradford City in behind-closed-doors game

- A number of First Team players featured against Bradford City
- Behind-closed-doors game took place at PPG Canalside
- Town kept another clean sheet

Eight Huddersfield Town First Team players were able to gain valuable minutes in a behind-closed-doors game against Bradford City.

The match provided the perfect opportunity for Danny and Nicky Cowley to have a look at players who may not have featured as prominently as others since they were appointed, whilst also giving those players a chance to build up their match fitness.

The match also gave full-back Herbert Bockhorn the opportunity to get some minutes under his belt after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Danny Cowley led the team, alongside his brother and Assistant Manager Nicky, as the Terriers took on Sky Bet League 2 side Bradford City at PPG Canalside.

Town created a number of chances against the Bantams, but the match ended goalless, which meant another clean sheet for young ‘keeper Ryan Schofield.

The eight First Team players were joined by Academy players Mustapha Olagunju, Aaron Rowe and Kian Harratt, who was on the bench against Brentford last week.

The bench was also made up of Young Terriers.

Huddersfield Town Manager Danny Cowley commented:

“I was pleased with the attitude and application the players showed against a good Bradford City side.

“We got another clean sheet, which was pleasing, and created enough chances to win two matches. We needed to be more clinical in certain situations to get the outcome we wanted.

“This was a good chance though to get minutes into the legs of players who are, perhaps, on the periphery of the squad and it gave us another opportunity to look at them in action and work on them in a match environment.”
