18-year-old striker Kit Elliott has signed his first professional contract, committing his future to Huddersfield Town until the summer of 2022!
The former Chelsea and Crystal Palace Academy player has impressed since joining the Terriers as an Academy scholar in 2018, featuring regularly for the Under-19 and Elite Development teams.
He’s currently enjoying a second loan spell in senior football with Concord Rangers, following on from a spell with Darlington in the Vanarama National League North in early 2019.
Kit made his first start for the Beach Boys in their 3-2 midweek win over Slough Town, having previously appeared three times as a substitute since joining the Club on 8 November.
Prior to his departure on loan, Elliott netted an impressive 10 goals in just 16 starts for the EDT and Under-19 sides in the opening months of the campaign.
He’s now put pen-to-paper on his first professional deal, which will run until 30 June 2022.
Huddersfield Town Academy Manager Leigh Bromby explained:
“Kit has really earned his first contract. He’s worked very hard with the coaches since the first day he arrived at the Club and you can see the improvements in his game as a result.
“He’s always had strengths in his hold-up play, but we challenged him to score more goals last season and he met that head on, scoring 10 goals before heading out on loan.
“Now the next step for Kit is to flourish in men’s football, and he has a great opportunity to do this with Concord. We’re monitoring him very closely and it was good to see him start his first game this week.”
