Huddersfield Town Manager Danny Cowley was quick to praise the efforts of his players after the Club’s 1-0 win away at Brentford.
The Terriers battled fantastically to cause Brentford problems before Karlan Grant scored the all-important winner.
When speaking after the game, Danny lauded his players’ commitment and passion for the team.
“I thought our players ran really hard. A game plan is a game plan. The game plan we put together meant the players would have to take their bodies to a place they didn’t want to go, and they were willing to do that for the team. They must take all the congratulations for the performance.
“We knew they (Brentford) were in a good moment and they’d be confident, and we had to try and disrupt that rhythm and fluency. We pressed really aggressively, jumped Lewis on and him and Fraizer worked so hard up front and never allowed a very good Brentford team to settle.
“As a consequence of that they never got into their fluid passing patterns and credit to both of them for that because my goodness Lewis and Fraizer ran so, so hard for the team; that gave us a good foothold in the game.
“I thought the players out ran and out worked what was a very good Brentford team who are in a good moment.
“We had to enjoy defending today, enjoy working hard and I thought we did that manfully.
“We didn’t give many chances away at all and always looked a threat on the counter attack.”
Town’s supporters packed, and sold out, the away end at Griffin Park and Town’s Manager also heaped praise on them.
“The supporters played their part today. I thought it was amazing to take well over 1,500 all this way down to London; it’s pretty special.
“You can see that they are starting to believe in this now.
“We have to make sure we take responsibility for that and make sure we don’t let them down.
“Hopefully today they will travel back and be proud of the efforts of the players.”
