Huddersfield Town Manager Danny Cowley is excited at the “real big challenge” ahead of his side on Saturday.

The Terriers travel to Ashton Gate to take on Bristol City in the Sky Bet Championship, a side currently sat in seventh place.

In their last outing the Robins were beaten 4-1 by league-leaders West Bromwich Albion, however, they are still unbeaten in seven on home soil.

When speaking to the press, Town’s Manager detailed how tough this match will be.

“We know Lee Johnson well and he’s proving to be an outstanding manager. He’s doing a great job at Bristol City and we have full respect for him.

“He’s turned them into a team that’s always in the top half of the Championship and are always in and around the Play-Off places and on top of that, have enjoyed some really good cup runs as well.

“We know they’ve had a good start to the season, yesterday was only their third loss in the first 18. They’re a good team who tweak their formations, so I think we have to be prepared for that.

“I think it’ll be a very big test, a real big challenge. They’ve been very good and consistent through the season.

“They’ll be disappointed from yesterday’s outcome. You’ll see a team wounded by that and will that’ll come out fighting, play aggressively, on the front foot, have lots of technical quality in and around that aggression as well.

“We anticipate a really tough game, tough challenge, both physically and mentally, so I’m looking forward to seeing how we respond from that.

“I think this game is a big one, we know it will be a different challenge, but we see it as a really good opportunity to see how far we’ve come as a group.”

Town come into the game off the back of two good performances picking up draws against Birmingham City and Swansea City.

In both of the games, Danny Cowley operated a 4-2-3-1 formation. He explained how pleased he was with that system and the development shown by his players.

“We definitely would’ve liked to have more than two points from the two games. We’ve been pleased with both performances, both have shown progression, which has been good.

“We’ve been pleased with the 4-2-3-1 system and we are pleased with how that looks. I think it’s added to our attacking game. We definitely look like more of an attacking threat in that formation.

“Defensively, we’ve only conceded one clear cut chances and three shots against us.

“We feel a little hard done by, by not taking at least four points from those two, if not six.”

Town have had a number of injury issues of late, but Danny Cowley hopes he doesn’t have many more names to add on to the ever-growing list.

“We’ve come through two tough games pretty unscathed.

“We are hopefully that we will have at least what we had on Tuesday available, if not one or two more!

“Danny (Simpson) is back on the grass and is training, so hopefully he’ll join us on the plane to Bristol.

“Jaden Brown is doing straight line running. He will be back as quickly and as safely as he can.”
