Huddersfield Town Manager Danny Cowley was delighted with what he and his players got out of the week-long training camp in Dubai.

The Terriers have been out on the grass every day working on different patterns of play as well as doing individual specifics and strength/fitness work.

When speaking to #HTTV after the final session, Danny explained how pleased he was.

“Yeah it’s been brilliant; it’s been a really productive week.

“The boys’ attitude and application has been good. The quality and intensity of the work has been good. It’s been a really beneficial trip for everyone involved.

“For us, we are a work in progress. All the time we have with the players on the grass is absolutely vital to keep trying to send the message and rehearse the game plan and the way we want to play.

“The more we rehearse and practice the better the relationships become and the more autonomous the decision making becomes, then the players are able to focus on the finer details because the larger details are engraved in them.”

Not only did the warm-weather training camp help the players physically, it also gave Danny and Nicky Cowley the chance to work on things a little bit different.

“You don’t normally get weather like this in Huddersfield in November.

“The weather is conducive to being able to coach, being able to do tactical work, to be able to do sessions you wouldn’t be able to do in the winter months in England; that’s been beneficial.

“When the skies are blue, and the sun is shining then the mentality of everyone is better.

“We’ve been able to crank the intensity of the work and the heat makes them even more challenging for the players.

“Certainly, when they come back to Huddersfield next week, then they should find the work much easier because the temperatures have dropped.”
