Huddersfield Town midfielder Juninho Bacuna admitted that their performance against Bristol City’s wasn’t good enough.

Bacuna scored his fifth goal of the season in the second half, however a poor performance from Town meant they came away from the South West with no points.

When speaking after the game Bacuna detailed what he thought went wrong.

“It wasn’t our best game.

“We started really badly, conceded straight away and Fraizer Campbell coming off confused our playing and our pressing.

“In the set pieces we didn’t know where to stand and that’s how we conceded our second goal.

“We’re disappointed.”

Town were stronger in the second half but weren’t able to create enough chances to close the goal margin. The midfielder recalled Danny’s comments in the changing room post-match.

“He said that in the first half we lost our fights and we lost our one vs ones.

“In the second half it was a little bit better, but it still wasn’t good enough.”

Next weekend sees Leeds United travel to the John Smith Stadium for the West Yorkshire Derby. Bacuna commented that with the opportunity for the Terriers to remain three unbeaten at home, they need to refocus.

“We need to go back to Huddersfield and look in the mirror.

“We need to ask ourselves if everybody did everything they could for the team and for the game today.

“We have to come together and speak about it, and keep our heads up because next week there is a game again.”
