Huddersfield Town midfielder Juninho Bacuna believes the players are going into this weekend’s game full of confidence.

Town travel to second-placed Preston North End on Saturday for the Club’s latest Sky Bet Championship fixture.

Danny Cowley has led his side to seven games without defeat and was rewarded by being named the October Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month.

Similarly, Juninho has also been in good form himself. He was nominated for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award after bagging three goals in as many games at the start of the month.

Following last weekend’s impressive 1-0 win over Brentford, Bacuna explained how positive the players’ mentality is heading into the game.

“We have a lot on confidence, we go into this game with the same spirit and the same mentality.

“We hope we can get a clean sheet, which is important, and if we can get a win, it’s good for us.”

Huddersfield Town endured a tough start to the season but have since turned their form around and Bacuna believes the players and staff have built a strong working mentality in the camp.

“It was hard both last season and this season. Last season we had a process where we lost a lot of games, we played quite well, but still was losing games.

“We tried to improve in pre-season, we came together and made a game plan, but when the season started, we didn’t start well and that was the process of continuing from last season.

“Now with the new coaches, we stick together and try to work more as a team. You can see that in the last seven games.”

Since the Cowleys have come in, they’ve worked with Juninho both on and off the pitch. He explained what his relationship is like with them.

“I speak a lot with the coaches, we try to build relationships outside of football, so that we can trust each other.

“If you have that kind of relationship with the coaches where they can trust you outside of the pitch and on the pitch, then that’s the best you can have with a team of coaches.

“His support means a lot. It’s good when the coaches have confidence in you, I’m trying to give them something back on the pitch, that’s what I’ve tried to do in the last few games.”
