Legal agreements reached with former coaching team

At the conclusion of the 2018/19 Premier League season, Huddersfield Town would like to thank former coaches Christoph Bühler and Andrew Hughes.

Christoph and Andrew left their day-to-day roles at the Club on an operation level alongside former Head Coach David Wagner in January 2019 and, subsequently, legal agreements have been reached with both.

Christoph joined Huddersfield Town as Assistant Head Coach alongside David Wagner in November 2015, before Andrew Hughes followed as Town’s First Team Coach in the summer of 2016.

The pair were influential behind-the-scenes and played an integral role in Huddersfield Town’s promotion to the Premier League as Christopher Schindler’s Play-Off Final penalty fired the Club into the top-flight.

After helping Town pull off the unthinkable during the 2016/17 campaign, both Christoph and Hughsey were, once again, essential parts in Town’s Premier League survival as the Club gained a vital 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge to secure top-flight football for at least another season.

Huddersfield Town Chairman Dean Hoyle commented:

“I would like to thank Christoph and ‘Hughesy’ for what they helped us achieve here at Huddersfield Town.

“They worked tirelessly to support David Wagner and helped us achieve things on the pitch that no-one thought was possible.

“I have no doubt in my mind that they will both continue to have successful careers and I wish them all the best for the future.”
