- Head Coach Jan Siewert makes three changes to the XI
- Joel Coleman makes Premier League debut; Smith & Stanković return
Huddersfield Town Head Coach Jan Siewert has made three changes to the starting XI for today’s Premier League game against Southampton; 3pm kick-off at St. Mary’s Stadium.
As he stated in his pre-match press conference on Friday, Siewert has handed a Premier League debut to goalkeeper Joel Coleman, with Jonas Lössl dropping to the bench.
It is the 23-year-old’s first competitive Town appearance since the Emirates FA Cup draw at home to Birmingham City in January 2018, although he subsequently made 20 starts on loan at Sky Bet League 1 side Shrewsbury Town during the first half of the current season.
Unfortunately, full-backs Erik Durm (hamstring) and Chris Löwe (knock in training) are unfit today, so Tommy Smith and Jon Gorenc Stanković come into the side.
Today is Smith’s 200th competitive appearance for the Terriers in all competitions!
With Durm and Löwe unavailable, Siewert has brought two Young Terriers into the match day squad.
20-year-old full back Demeaco Duhaney makes his return to the squad for the first time since picking up a thigh injury on his senior debut; the 1-0 win over Wolves on 26 February.
He is joined by 18-year-old winger Aaron Rowe, with fellow teenager Matty Daly also a substitute once again today.
Ben Hamer and Zanka both missed the majority of training this week through illness.
