Huddersfield Town Head Coach Jan Siewert has told his players to show their fight in the Club’s final Premier League game of the season.

The Terriers face Southampton at St. Mary’s on Sunday and come into the game off the back of a positive performance against Manchester United.

When speaking to the press, Jan Siewert was keen for his players to build on that result.

“It was great (against Manchester United), and we want to build on it.

“We know at Southampton it’ll be a tough game because they are a tough team and fight for many second balls, so they don’t give it away.

“We must show our fighting spirit and then hopefully, we will end the season with a win.”

Ahead of the game, Siewert detailed which players could travel to the South Coast.

“Erik (Durm) couldn’t train this week, so he’s off at the weekend. It was his last game against Manchester United at home here for us. It’s not possible that he participates against Southampton. Hopefully, it’s not that bad, but it’s still a problem, so he won’t be with us.

“Zanka could not train properly, we had several players that could not train properly. Chris Löwe had a small problem. It might be that I have to change the team through illness or small problems.

"I think this is a good possibility to see Joel Coleman in the game. We spoke to Joel and Jonas and we are all on the same page. I have to look at Joel, so he will start in this game.

“Nearly the same squad, though, will travel to Southampton. We still have tomorrow to look at the team.”

It was announced prior to the Manchester United game that Dean Hoyle would step down as Chairman and be replaced by local businessman Phil Hodgkinson.

Town’s Head Coach met the Club’s incoming Chairman this week and detailed how they are both excited for the summer.

“I spoke to Phil (Hodgkinson), it was a decent conversation with him and I was very pleased with it.

“We met on Tuesday and spoke about our views of the Club, he spoke about his views on the Club and we are really on the same page, so I’m looking forward.

“As he is, I’m also excited to build momentum for this club and really to go through this tough period because it will be a really hard summer. We know this on the transfer market. We have to keep our eyes open on each possibility we have and there will be some changes in the squad.”
