Second day of Pedal for Pounds 10 completed as riders arrive in Amsterdam

- Over 200 cyclists ride 102 miles from Antwerp to Amsterdam
- The riders overcome the longest stretch of the journey
- Pedal for Pounds 10 is in association with Made by Cooper

After departing Antwerp yesterday (Wednesday 1 May 2019), the cyclists overcame the longest stretch of Huddersfield Town’s Pedal for Pounds with Made by Cooper bike ride, ‘The Chairman’s Choice’, as they cycled 102 miles into the Netherlands before finishing up in Amsterdam.

The day’s cycling began with the riders leaving Antwerp at 7am before crossing the border into the Netherlands.

A 22.5-mile ride followed before the first stop of the day in Schijf; the cyclists then completed a further 27-mile journey towards Dordrecht, where Chairman Dean Hoyle again served up the day’s dinner, alongside One 17 Design’s Team Tea.

The riders were soon on their bikes again and they made their final stop of the day in Zandveldseweg, after a gruelling 76 miles, before powering on towards Amsterdam where they would spend Wednesday night.

This year’s Pedal for Pounds 10 with Made by Cooper ride, ‘The Chairman’s Choice’, will raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, the Town Foundation, Kirkwood Hospice and Ruddi’s Retreat.

The ride, which is 323 miles in total, began on Tuesday 30 April 2019 and it will finish at PPG Canalside on Friday 3 May 2019; the cyclists will then complete a lap of honour prior to the game against Manchester United at the John Smith’s Stadium on Sunday 5 May 2019.

The cyclists got back on their bikes today and they will when race 62 miles through the Hague towards Rotterdam in time to catch the overnight ferry back to Hull.

The final day of cycling will see the cyclists ride the final 88 miles back to PPG Canalside via Scunthorpe United’s Glanford Park and Doncaster Race Course to complete the journey.

Once again, the ride is being held in association with Made by Cooper; a local company with respected worldwide reputation for quality and design.

Based in Lion Chambers in Huddersfield, St George’s Square, the company creates enamel lapel pin badges, patches, medals, socks and much more, with a team of professional designers to help realise your ideas.
