Chris Löwe was delighted to give departing Chairman Dean Hoyle something to be proud about after Town drew 1-1 with Manchester United.

Isaac Mbenza drew the Terriers level in the second half after an excellent battling performance at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The game was the last one for Town with Dean Hoyle as Chairman and when speaking to #HTTV Chris Löwe admitted that the performance was for him.

“It was a great day for all of us. We all know that he will step aside as Chairman, we were aware it was his last home game today and we are happy that we gave him something to cheer about.

“The influence he had in the last years is hard to describe, he changed the Football Club in many, many ways, he’d done a great job in the past years, he’s done something new, tried something new and developed the Club.

“We’ve been unbelievably successful over the last two years. I think everyone in and around the Club can’t be thankful enough for what he’s done.”

There was another sell-out at the John Smith’s Stadium this afternoon and the defender was delighted for the fans, Jan Siewert and his teammates.

“It was important today that we showed our other face and that we finally got a result against a big team.

“They played for something today, it was an important game for them. We are just happy today that we gave something back. For all of us it was important, for us the players and the Head Coach as well.

“We put so much effort in during the training week and he tries to prepare us as good as he can. Finally we got something for him today.

“After a really difficult few months, we can go home and can be proud of what we did today.”
