Young Huddersfield Town defenders feature in local Cup Final for Liversedge FC whilst on work experience.

After beating Swallownest in the Semi-Finals 1-0, Liversedge progressed into the Final to face Worksop Town – the side top of the NCEL Premier Division.

Young left-back Mason O’Malley started in the Cup Final, which was played at Doncaster Rovers’ Keepmoat Stadium, whilst Sam Gibson was on the bench.

Unfortunately for the Young Terriers, Liversedge FC was beaten 3-1 by Worksop Town.

That was Mason O’Malley’s 17th appearance for the Club whilst on work experience, he also has one goal to his name.

Fellow defender, Sam Gibson, who didn’t come on in the Final, made 13 appearances for the Club whilst on work experience.

During the course of the 2018/19 season, six Young Terriers spent some time with the Club. Goalkeeper Harrison Davison-Hale made 12 appearances, before leaving to go on work experience with Athersley Recreation.

Defender Oran Thompson started three games, whilst George Danaher made one appearance off the bench. Dahomey Raymond also spent time at the Club but didn’t make any appearances.

The work experience spells provided the youngsters with their first taste of Senior Football as they competed in the Toolstation Northern Counties East Football League (NCEL) Premier Division.

A number of Academy players have gone out to gain First Team experience this year to provide them with a physical stimulus.
