Huddersfield Town to play a pre-season friendly at Rochdale on Wednesday 17 July 2019

- Huddersfield Town has announced its first friendly ahead of the 2019/20 campaign
- The Terriers will travel to Rochdale’s Crown Oil Arena on Wednesday 17 July 2019
- Admission information will be confirmed on htafc.com

The first friendly ahead of the 2019/20 Sky Bet Championship season for Jan Siewert’s First Team has been confirmed this morning.

The Terriers will head to Rochdale AFC to take on Brian Barry-Murphy’s side at the Crown Oil Arena on Wednesday 17 July 2019, with a 7.45pm kick-off.

Admission prices will be confirmed in due course on htafc.com.

During the 2018/19 campaign, Rochdale finished 16th in Sky Bet League 1 with 54 points from 46 games.

Barry-Murphy was appointed as the Club’s Manager at the beginning of April on a permanent basis after leading Rochdale to eight points from 12 games as Caretaker Manager.

Town has a link with the Dale through Young Terrier Rekeil Pyke. The striker spent six months on loan at the Sky Bet League 1 Club and featured heavily under the stewardship of Barry-Murphy after recovering from injury.

During his time at the Club, Rekeil made six appearances, starting the Dale’s last two games of the season.

The last time the two clubs met competitively was in the Fourth Round of the Emirates FA Cup in January 2017. Collin Quaner marked his debut for the Club with a goal before a strike from Izzy Brown and a brace from Michael Hefele – who was playing in an unorthodox forward role – sent the Terriers into the Fifth Round.
