Huddersfield Town defender Terence Kongolo explained that the players have to learn from the defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion.

A late second half goal from Florin Andone condemned Town to defeat in what was a spirited, battling performance from Jan Siewert’s side.

When speaking to #HTTV, Terence explained how hard the players worked, whilst bemoaning the fact they didn’t stay focused for the entirety of the match.

“We fought for the whole game. The most important thing in this type of game is to stay together and keep a clean sheet. We conceded a goal in the last few minutes and this cannot happen.

“In this kind of game, we need to get some points, a draw would’ve been ok, but we lost.

“All four defenders and the goalkeeper have to stay focused for the whole game. I think we have to learn from this game, to stay focused until the end.

“In the next game we have to stay focused until the end. You saw with the free-kick.

“Everyone in this squad gave everything until the end. We were all tired, but we never gave up. We have to keep this mindset, have focus and try everything.

“There are a few games left and we have to get points. We have to look game by game and have to stay positive.”

Terence reserved a final message to the Huddersfield Town supporters who travelled over 200 miles to watch the Terriers.

“They support us always, away games and home games, they travelled to Brighton. I am thankful that they travelled to Brighton.

“For me, I’m disappointed that we didn’t give them some points. I am really thankful that they supported us today.”
