Midfielder Alex Pritchard insists that Huddersfield Town wasn’t good enough in the defeat against AFC Bournemouth and need to go again for the supporters.

Goals either side of half-time from Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser condemned Town to a 2-0 defeat to AFC Bournemouth at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The Town midfielder spoke to #HTTV after the game and explained that the standard of the Terriers’ performance wasn’t acceptable.

“It’s difficult to take. I don’t think they dominated on the ball but when they did get in the final third they were clinical.

“We all have to look at ourselves after this game, but we need to go again for the fans and for ourselves. It’s not good enough.”

Pritch expressed his frustration at the result and admitted that it was always going to be difficult after going behind.

“We’ve come to a game that we need to win, we want to win, and we’ve lost 2-0. We’ve lost again – it’s not good enough.

“It’s difficult because we were chasing the game and you need to put bodies forward. You know on the counter they’ve got the pace – King, Wilson, Fraser. They were good today and they showed their quality.”

The Town players are still adapting to Jan Siewert’s style of play, but Pritchard didn’t use that as an excuse. The midfielder has called for a reaction in next weekend’s game.

“There is changes and you need to adapt very quickly, if you don’t you will get punished.

“They will still be there in their numbers and we have to come out now, West Ham away, and show a performance. They’ve been excellent throughout the whole season, it’s been difficult for them but just stick with us.”
