“I’m devastated” admitted Jonathan Hogg following Huddersfield Town’s relegation to the Sky Bet Championship.

The Terriers were beaten 2-0 at Selhurst Park that, combined with other results, ended the Club’s stay in the Premier League.

When speaking after the game, Jonathan Hogg explained what the mood was like in the dressing room.

“It’s not good. On a personal level I’m devastated because of all the hard work that’s gone in to get us where we are today; it’s all been taken away from us.

“It’s been enjoyable while we’ve been here (in the Premier League), but we need to make sure we put things right and try our best to bounce back.”

Hoggy and his teammates went over to applaud all the travelling Town fans following the game and reserved special praise for them post-match.

“Personally, I think the fans have been fantastic for all of us.

“We need to try and give them something to cheer about because they’ve stuck by us through thick and thin. Credit to them.

“We need to make sure we make them proud and at least get a couple more wins for them.”

The midfielder explained that the performance at Selhurst Park was one that was comparable to the whole season.

“We said in the dressing room that, that game summed our season up; getting chances and not taking them, allowing easy chances for the opposition that they put away and the penalty. We need to cut that out. You give teams like Palace or any Premier League teams like Palace that opportunity they are going to snap it up.

“We need to take the positives out and try our best to be positive. It’ll be hard over the next three or four days to get our heads round it, but we need to try our best to stay focused and keep looking ahead.”
