In the run up to Huddersfield Town’s 2019/20 season in the Sky Bet Championship, htafc.com will take a look at some of the most memorable fixtures against teams the Terriers will face – today we’re looking back at our memorable 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest during the 2014/15 Sky Bet Championship season.

The Terriers overcame Stuart Pearce’s Nottingham Forest with a 3-0 score line at the John Smith’s Stadium back in November 2014.

Town came into the game as the form team on a six-game unbeaten run whilst the visitors were seven matches without a win. The Terriers’ run of late-Autumn form paid dividends inside the opening minute as Joel Lynch nodded home the opener after just 44 seconds.

After 20 minutes, the lead was doubled with Nahki Wells guiding a header into the bottom corner, after he was found inside the box by a cross from the left.

The 15,317 in attendance at the John Smith’s were treated to a third goal of the afternoon less than 10 minutes after the interval after Grant Holt rifled Sean Scannell’s ball past the goalkeeper with a first-time effort from the edge of the box. The goal was the forward’s second in seven appearances for Town having joined the Club on loan from Wigan Athletic just over a month earlier.

The visitors came close to getting a consolation goal late on after Chris Burke saw his effort hit the bar, but Chris Powell’s Town saw out the remainder of the game to take all three points.

Victory extended Town’s unbeaten run to seven matches and left Powell’s side with 20 points after 15 games of the 2014/15 Sky Bet Championship season. The Terriers also climbed up nine places to 13th in the table following the win.
