In the run up to Huddersfield Town’s 2019/20 season in the Sky Bet Championship, htafc.com has decided to take a look at some of the most memorable fixtures against teams they’re due face again this season – today’s memorable match takes us back to 2005.
On Tuesday 9 August 2005, Bristol City travelled up north for a fixture against the Terriers at the (then) Galpharm Stadium.
11,138 fans piled into the stadium to watch the League One clash, but they were to see no goals until the final minute of play!
The first half seemed relatively uneventful with only one yellow card given to Bristol’s Luke Wilkshire and no goals scored. The second half of the game is when things started really heating up.
Wilkshire gained his first yellow card of the fixture in the 38th minute. The second one came along in the 50th minute which followed by a red card!
Town striker Pawel Abbott struck with less than a minute to go securing the three points to the Terriers.
