In the run up to Huddersfield Town’s 2019/20 season in the Sky Bet Championship, htafc.com are taking a look back at some of the most memorable fixtures against teams the Terriers will face in the upcoming season – today we’re looking back at Town’s only win at the Bet365 Stadium back in 1998.
It was a vital match for Town and Stoke City, as they were both floating around the relegation zone. A superb volley from Paul Barnes gave Peter Jackson’s side the lead, before Marcus Stewart doubled in just three minutes later.
Town held firm until the very end when a free-kick from Danny Tiatto made it past the keeper in the 90th minute.
The win helped Town away from the relegation zone and started a run of just one defeat in eight – winning five!
