‘Schindy’ joined Town in June 2016 for a then club-record fee from German side TSV 1860 Munich and has played a prominent role at the heart of Town’s defence ever since.
He has 125 appearances in total for The Terriers, with 74 of those coming in the Premier League over the last two seasons.
Schindler retained last season’s Hargreaves Memorial Player of the Year award for the second-year running having collected 23% of the votes from Town supporters.
