Town’s Club Photographer selects favourite imagery from 2018/19

- Club Photographer’s favourite images from 2018/19 campaign
- First Team, Town Foundation, Retail and Commercial images
- John Early explains why he chose each photo

With the 2018/19 season drawing to a close, Huddersfield Town’s Photographer John Early looked back at his favourite images.

John, who has been working for the Club for over five years, selected his top 10 images not only of Town’s First Team squad but also the retail, commercial and charity work he has also done with Town over the campaign.

Despite wanting to keep a key focus on the images and what they tell you, John put a few words together about why he chose each picture.

Take a look at his best 10 images of the campaign in chronological order!

The Spooky Train

A young student enjoys her packed lunch on the Spooky Train! A collaboration between the Town Foundation and Grand Central Trains saw a carriage decorated and lots of ghost stories as we travelled to Doncaster and back with author Helena Pielichaty.

Wolves vs Town

A brace from Aaron Mooy was enough to earn all three points at Molineux in-front of the Super Sunday cameras.

Cardiff City vs Town

David Wagner’s wave and thumbs up to the travelling supporters seemed to last a little longer than normal and it proved to be his last game in charge.

Jan Siewert’s first press conference

Jan was posing for the photographers after his first press conference but sideways on he was nicely framed by the crest at PPG Canalside.

E-Premier League tournament

Juninho Bacuna and Philip Billing played FIFA19 against each other at our first Huddersfield Town E-Premier League tournament. Phil definitely won!

Blake

Blake’s father had recently died and his family asked if Blake could release a balloon from the centre circle. After the AFC Bournemouth game, he released the balloon and was delighted that the balloon set off towards the seats in the Fantastic Media Upper Stand where he had always sat with his dad.

Karlan Grant’s goal at West Ham

Stunning skill leading to an even better strike!

Isaac Mbenza vs Manchester United

Isaac Mbenza pounces on a Manchester United mistake and scores to ensure a point.

Jo Cox Event

A joint event between The Jo Cox Foundation and the Town Foundation saw local school children playing on the hallowed turf.

Thank you to Town fans at Southampton

Nearly 2,000 shirts were put out by the Club as a thank you to all the travelling supporters. It looked really great and retail staff took an excited selfie as the first Terriers walk into the stand.

A Hoyle Wave

A wonderful picture of a special moment. Manchester United was Dean Hoyle’s last home game as Chairman of the club and he celebrates in front of the Cowshed Loyal with Janet, Danny and Josh.

Massive thanks to William Early (David Wagner, Karlan Grant and Isaac Mbenza photos) and Ben Early (Hoyle family photo) who work with me on match days and George and Declan who have helped throughout the season.
