Winger Rajiv van La Parra explained how delighted he is to be back playing for Huddersfield Town.

The 28-year-old returned to the Terriers this summer and has since been working hard to get into Jan Siewert’s plans ever since.

When speaking after the win over Doncaster Rovers, Rajiv explained how he feels back at home at Huddersfield Town.

“I’m really enjoying being back here. I had didn’t have the best period last season, which is part of football, but that makes it even nicer when the fans sing your name. I’m back where I belong.”

Rajiv scored the opening goal at the Keepmoat Stadium, curling an effort into the top corner from 25 yards out.

He described the strike and explained how that will help him going into the 2019/20 Sky Bet Championship campaign.

“Collin came from the right side, inside, it was three against two and I was free on the left side. He saw me, gave me the ball, I controlled it and put it in the top corner. It was a great goal.

“For me personally, it’s always good to score for the confidence and to get ready for the season.

“For attacking players it’s always good to score goals and to be important for the team. If you can do this in the pre-season, you can build it up to the season.”

That’s Town’s fourth win on the bounce and Rajiv explained how the winning feeling is an added bonus as the players focus on building up their match fitness.

“When you play these games it’s nice to win them.

“For me personally it’s more to get the match fitness and the tactical things right, so we are ready for the season. If you can get the win, of course it’s nice to win.”
