Mark Hudson has today committed his future to Huddersfield Town by signing a new contract with the Club.

The former Club Captain stepped into a coaching role with the Academy upon his retirement from playing in August 2017, going on to lead the Under-19 and Elite Development Team.

He stepped into the breach and took caretaker charge of the senior side upon David Wagner’s departure for one game before becoming First Team Coach under new Head Coach Jan Siewert in January 2019.

‘Huddy’ has now reaffirmed his commitment to the Terriers ahead of the 2019/20 Sky Bet Championship season, as Chief Executive Julian Winter explains:

“During Mark’s days as a player, when he led the Club to promotion as captain, we knew we potentially had a very good coach on our hands and that is certainly becoming the case. As such, we’re delighted that Mark has signed this new contract today.

“After doing some great work in the Academy, he has stepped up and become an important part of our First Team coaching structure under Jan Siewert. Mark is still learning but has already offered great support to Jan through a difficult period last season.”

Head Coach Jan Siewert added:

“I’m very happy that Mark has committed his future to us. He’s rightly a well-respected figure around the Club and he’s become an important part of my coaching team.”
