20-year-old defender moves to National League side
- Romoney Crichlow-Noble joins Hartlepool United
- Left-sided defender loaned for the 2019/20 season
- Comments from Academy Manager Leigh Bromby
Huddersfield Town Academy player Romoney Crichlow-Noble has joined National League side Hartlepool United on loan for the 2019/20 campaign.
The 20-year-old defender, who is equally comfortable at left back or centre half, will now get the chance to further his experience of senior football under the tutelage of Pools manager Craig Hignett.
Hartlepool United finished 16th in the fifth tier of English football last season
Romoney, who is contracted to the Terriers until the summer of 2020, made eight appearances for Bradford (Park Avenue) in the league below last season, as well as 30 appearances for Dean Whitehead’s Town Under-19 side.
He also played senior football before joining Town, featuring at just 16 years old for Enfield Borough.
Academy Manager Leigh Bromby explained:
“Romoney’s loan move is the latest in a series for the players in our Academy group who will benefit from proper exposure to senior men’s football.
“It’s a big part of our Academy strategy that, when right, our players go and learn what it means to come up against seasoned professionals in an environment where it really matters to perform and win.
“I’m sure that Romoney is up to the challenge tactically, technically and physically and it’ll be great for him to play in front of such a well-supported club, with real expectations of success.”
Another Young Terrier has moved out on loan for the 2019/20 campaign.
Young attacker Olly Dyson has re-joined National League side Barrow AFC for the upcoming season.
Olly was on work experience with the Bluebirds last year and made three appearances, although his time at the Club was hampered due to injury.
During that campaign, Ian Evatt’s side finished 11th in the Vanarama National League table.
