WINKLER JOINS SIEWERT’S COACHING STAFF

German coach makes the move from Barnsley

- Andreas Winkler joins Huddersfield Town’s coaching team
- German joins from previous role at Barnsley
- Winkler & Jan Siewert had worked together at RW Essen

Huddersfield Town can confirm that Andreas Winkler has today joined new Head Coach Jan Siewert’s coaching team.

The 49-year-old German makes the move from Sky Bet League 1 side Barnsley, where he had worked with Head Coach Daniel Stendel since June 2018.

Andreas started his playing career at Bayern Munich, where he came through the famed Bavarian Academy.

He played for several clubs in Germany before retiring at Rot-Weiss Essen in 2003, where he joined the backroom staff.

Winkler was Head of Academy for 14 years before becoming Director of Football at the Club, where he worked with Jan Siewert during his season as Head Coach of the Club.

Andreas will travel with the squad to Portugal today for a four-day training camp, with full details to follow on htafc.com this morning.
