Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner stressed the important of the Club’s upcoming Premier League game against Cardiff City.

The Terriers come into this game eight points from safety on the back and face a Cardiff City side that sits in 17th in the top-flight.

When speaking in his press conference, Town’s Head Coach explained how important it is to win the game at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday.

“I think the longer you don’t have this winning feeling, the more desperate you get, this is why this is a very important game for us.

“It’s a game we have to win and a game that could affect our season massively.”

Statistics are against Huddersfield Town, but that isn’t deterring David Wagner’s belief.

“It’s a huge challenge, and I said this before, statistically nobody has done this before, but this is exactly the challenge we face and something we are used to.

“We’ve shown in the past more often that stats are interesting, but don’t always show the truth.

“We have an unbelievably difficult challenge in front us of us but it’s something we like to face.

“I still have the belief that we have a chance and as long as we have a chance, I think it makes absolute sense to fight for it.”

Ahead of this weekend’s game, Town’s Head Coach revealed the latest team news.

“Tommy (Smith) has been back in training since yesterday, without any significant issues.

“Hamid (Sabiri) was back in training with the team today, for this first time, but this was only part-time. If his X-Ray next week is successful, then he will join the group full-time.

“Aaron Mooy is still working with the fitness department, like Danny Williams, who is in recovery work.

“Aaron has been doing some more intense runs, but I don’t have updates that he’s made some huge progress.”
