- Comments from Academy Manager Leigh Bromby
Huddersfield Town has completed the signing of England Under-19 international Jaden Brown from fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.
Brown is the latest highly-rated English youngster to join the Terriers, following hot on the heels of fellow England Under-19 defender Demeaco Duhaney. Like Demeaco, he will initially join up with Mark Hudson’s Elite Development Squad at the Club.
Lewisham-born Jaden has progressed through the ranks at Spurs, most recently playing in the UEFA Youth League and the Premier League 2.
Having travelled with the Spurs First Team to the USA as part of the 2017/18 pre-season preparations, Brown has gained senior experience in this year’s Checkatrade Trophy, starting all four games for Spurs and scoring in a 4-0 win at Gillingham.
He’s been capped by England at several age levels up to Under-19 level, where he has been a regular teammate of Town goalkeeper Ryan Schofield.
Huddersfield Town Academy Manager Leigh Bromby commented:
“We’re delighted to be able to welcome Jaden to Huddersfield Town today.
“We firmly believe that Jaden is one of the most promising young English full backs around and we believe his qualities will fit the ‘Terriers Identity’ perfectly. He’s a player with a will to win and fight for his team, he’s good going forward and he has a clear desire to continue progressing in his career.
“We’re really looking forward to working with him on the training pitch come January.”
