Huddersfield Town Head Coach Jan Siewert admitted that his players are “all hungry” for the upcoming Premier League game against Everton.

Siewert was appointed as Town’s Head Coach last week (Monday 21 January 2019) and has since worked furiously with his players to get across his philosophy.

That period included a four-day training camp in Portugal, one that he believes has been really valuable.

“I learnt many things about my players. It was really intensive, and it was the best way for me to see the players all around the clock,” said Jan Siewert.

“I saw how they behaved, their togetherness and we had time to focus on the things we want to show on the pitch.

“All the players got my ideas, we are really working on it and the process is really starting now.

“What I appreciated was the players’ open-mind, we really started working hard and they realised it; I was really thankful for that.”

Supporters will have seen Aaron Mooy involved with First Team training during that period.

Siewert gave the latest fitness update on him and his teammates.

“I think he (Aaron) could be involved, but as you can imagine, I don’t want to give my line-up away!

“He’s close, he’s in training and I’m glad to see him back on the pitch.

“You all know that Philip Billing was injured. He still has some problems, but he could be back on the pitch soon. It might be tomorrow or Wednesday. I’d like to see him on the pitch, but for Philip, it’s definitely too soon for him to play tomorrow.

“Hamid Sabiri also trained with us. He joined the trip to Portugal, trained fully and is back.”

This game will be Jan Siewert’s first match in charge of Huddersfield Town. He explained what he knows about the Toffees and how he can’t wait to be on the touchline at the John Smith’s Stadium.

“I had the opportunity to observe Everton against Millwall, which was good for me. I immediately got an impression about how they could play.

“I am excited. I’ve been to the Stadium once, during a game, I am really looking forward to feeling the atmosphere there.

“The fans at this club are very special and they give a certain atmosphere, that’s why I’m excited.”
