Huddersfield Town midfielder Jason Puncheon stressed how well his side responded after going a goal down early on, but it wasn’t enough to get back in to the game despite Everton going down to 10 men in the second half.
The 1-0 defeat means that the Terriers are 11 points from safety with 14 matches remaining this season.
When speaking to #HTTV after the game, Puncheon praised new Head Coach Jan Siewert’s approach to the game.
“The Head Coach’s message is clear with runners in behind, that was clear from the red card when Adama was taken down.”
Town dominated much of the second half and Jason admitted they need leaders all over the pitch.
“I just try and be positive on and off the pitch, we’re going to need 11 leaders on the pitch and seven on the bench and for large parts of the game today we really showed that.
“We just didn’t get the rub of the green tonight.”
Despite the defeat the Town midfielder thinks there are good aspects to be taken from the game.
“I know we’ve lost the game, but people that were here will be able to leave with lots of positives.”
