Huddersfield Town’s Emirates FA Cup campaign gets underway this weekend with a trip to Ashton Gate to face Lee Johnson’s Bristol City side on Saturday 5 January 2019; 5.30pm kick-off.

The Robins currently sit 11th in the Sky Bet Championship table, just five points off the Play-Off places.

The hosts come into the game following an impressive 2-0 away victory over Stoke City with Famara Diédhiou and Callum O’Dowda grabbing the goals.

Johnson (below) has been in charge of Bristol City since 2016 following spells in charge of both Oldham Athletic and Barnsley.

The former Robins midfielder led the Club to the Semi-Finals of the EFL Cup last season including a 2-1 home win over Manchester United.

Town’s last meeting against the Robins was a 4-0 away defeat on 17 March 2017, with the Club’s last victory over the Robins coming months earlier as goals from Elias Kachunga and Nahki Wells secured a 2-1 win on 10 December 2016.

This game will be the third meeting between the two sides in the Emirates FA Cup. The first came in 1920 as Town beat Bristol City 2-1 away from home. The second was in 2001 as the Terriers lost 2-0 at home.
