Huddersfield Town Academy goalkeeper Luke Mewitt has today joined Evo-Stik League East Division club Marske United on loan for the rest of the 2018/19 season.

The 19-year-old custodian will get his first taste of senior men’s football whilst with The Seasiders, who play in the eighth tier of the English football pyramid.

Marske, located near Middlesbrough and Redcar in North Yorkshire, currently sits 11th in the table with 30 points from 21 games.

Former Barnet goalkeeper Mewitt joined The Terriers after a successful trial period in 2017 and has progressed up the age groups at the Club, starting 11 games for Mark Hudson’s Elite Development Team and Under-19 sides so far this season.

His professional contract runs until the conclusion of the current season, with Town holding the option to extend the deal by 12 further months.
