Centre back heads out for his first senior football
- Huddersfield Town Academy defender Rarmani Edmonds-Green leaves on loan
- Centre back joins Evo-Stik League side Brighouse Town
- Comments from Academy Manager Leigh Bromby
Huddersfield Town Academy defender Rarmani Edmonds-Green has joined Evo-Stik League club Brighouse Town on loan for the rest of the 2018/19 season.
This will be the first loan spell for the 20-year-old, giving him important experience of senior men’s football in the next step of his development.
A centre back, London-born Rarmani joined the Terriers on his 17th birthday after a successful trial from the Nike Academy.
He’s trained with the First Team on several occasions, including the pre-season camp in Germany, and was named ‘Defender of the Tournament’ as the Under-19 side finished fourth in the Champions Trophy in Düsseldorf in April.
He contracted to the Club until June 2019, although Town has the option to extend that contract by a further season.
He joins Brighouse Town as the Club chases promotion from the Evo-Stik League East Division, the eighth tier of the English football pyramid. Vill Powell’s side currently sits second in the division, six points behind leaders Morpeth Town, ahead of the game at home to Stamford on Saturday.
Huddersfield Town Academy Manager Leigh Bromby explained:
“Rarmani is at an important stage of his development where he needs to play in competition that really matters; one where livelihoods are on the line and there’s something tangible to play for.
“He’ll get exactly that at Brighouse Town, where there is a real fight for promotion at a crucial time of the season. I’d like to thank Vill and everyone at the Club for helping to make this move happen.
“Rarmani is a very talented defender and I’m looking forward to seeing him excel for Brighouse.”
