Karlan Grant expressed his desire to show what he can do in the Premier League after joining Huddersfield Town from Charlton Athletic.

The 21-year-old joined the Terriers for an undisclosed fee, putting pen-to-paper on a contract running until the summer of 2022.

When speaking to #HTTV for the first time, he explained why he wanted to join Jan Siewert’s side.

“I’m absolutely delighted, I’m glad it’s over the line and I can’t wait to get started.

“I know a few players who have been at Huddersfield Town and they’ve only spoke highly of the Club.

“I know the Club wants to bring through young players and it’s a Premier League opportunity as well.”

For many footballers, the chance of playing in the Premier League is an aspiration or a dream and that’s why he wants to make the most of his big chance.

“It’ll be difficult, but I want to make the next step in my career. Playing in the best league in the world is a no brainer. I know it’ll be tough but I’m excited.

“Ever since I was a boy I dreamt of playing in the Premier League, it’s what every kid dreams of. It’s a dream come true.

“I’m going to enjoy this. I’m not going to come here and hide. I want to showcase my talent and see what I can do on the big stage.”

The young striker has been in prolific form for Charlton Athletic so far this season scoring 14 goals and setting up four for his teammates.

He went into depth about what’s changed over the past couple of seasons to help him hit those heights.

“I’ve worked extremely hard to be in the form I am.

“I work hard every day on the training field, improve at what I’m good at and not good at. I just kept believing and got my rewards this season by scoring that many goals.

“The biggest thing for me is believing in myself, I’ve learnt to do that more. I knew I had the tools but it’s about believing that you can do it on the pitch, on the big stage.”
