Gathering vital experience and wanting to start the New Year with a bang were the two key messages from Jaden Brown as he spoke to #HTTV after making the move up north from Tottenham Hotspur to Huddersfield Town.
After signing a two-and-a-half-year contract with Town, the Lewisham-born defender was ‘very excited’ at the prospect of joining the Club and moving away from home.
“It’s a new challenge for myself with being away from home, a new dressing room and a new opportunity.
“It was an easy decision for me because I have more opportunities to be in and around the First Team and I thought that if I get that chance then that is something that I can try and take.”
The youngster added that he wanted to ‘get the experience’ of playing against different types of footballing sides.
“As you get older the game changes and you’re not always playing against technical player.
“For me as a player I like to get forward a lot and you know you’ve got to do more defending in the box, more blocks and more heading, so I can challenge my game a lot as well.”
The England Under-19 international was also keen to emphasise how key Leigh Bromby, Mark Hudson and Dean Whitehead were in his decision to sign for the Club.
“Even off the pitch, with being away from home I can speak to someone who has got the experience and it’s easy to go to them to speak to.
“Living alone and doing new things, I’m excited.”
Jaden is good friends with fellow defender Rarmani Edmonds-Green and a few of the other youngsters at the Club and explained how they had given them a warning about what it is like living in West Yorkshire.
“They said it’s very cold, and that’s about it really.
“I’ve known them for a while, so it’ll be easy for me to be comfortable, and they’ll show me around the place, so it’ll be nice for me.
“I can’t wait, 2019 is a New Year so let’s start with a bang, hopefully.”
