Head Coach Jan Siewert delivered a strong message to his players ahead of Huddersfield Town’s Premier League match against Wolves.

During his press conference, Siewert detailed why he was so unhappy with the performance against Newcastle United before urging his players to give everything on Tuesday night (26 February 2019).

“The least that everyone deserves at this Club is that the players give 100% effort. We have to run like hell.

“I wasn’t pleased with our performance against Newcastle United because we had a bad game.

“The players have definitely been disappointed, I have been disappointed and everyone in the Club has been disappointed.

“I told the players I wasn’t leased with the situation and I’m sure we need fresh legs against Wolverhampton.”

Huddersfield Town’s last win of the season came against Wolves in November at Molineux, where a brace of Aaron Mooy earned the Terriers all three points.

Jan Siewert hopes the memories from that game will help provide his players with confidence.

“It could help because it’s stayed in the mind of our players. We are looking forward for a win.

“Until the end of the season, the least we can do is run and do everything for everyone who deserves it here at the Club.

“I said it in the dressing room directly after the game, ‘I have met so many people here who give everything for this club every day, so the least we can do is run, as quick as possible, even if we have one man less.’

“There you can definitely realise I was not happy with what I saw on the pitch.”

Ahead of the game at the John Smith’s Stadium, Jan Siewert detailed the Club’s latest team news.

“Diahkaby is still not available, unfortunately; it’ll take time and we will have to look.

“Isaac Mbenza is still injured and Danny Williams, of course.

“We have some small problems like you get after such a game, but not serious ones like the three I mentioned. Erik Durm will hopefully be available.”
