Huddersfield Town Head Coach Jan Siewert reflects on the 5-0 defeat at Chelsea

Huddersfield Town Head Coach Jan Siewert witnessed his side miss a good chance to go ahead in west London but admitted that Town just couldn't match Chelsea's quality.

Eden Hazard and Gonzalo Higuain both netted braces, and a header from David Luiz rounded off a miserable afternoon in the Capital.

Town fans made themselves heard on the famous Fulham Road, but an early chance which went begging ultimately proved costly, as Maurizio Sarri's Blues comprehensively got back to winning ways having lost 4-0 at AFC Bournemouth on Wednesday.

"I thank our fans; our support was incredible. We had the first chance at Chelsea which isn't easy, and created our moments. It probably wasn't the best time to play Chelsea as they were angry."

"Sometimes I think we have to shoot more; I have to encourage the players to do this more as it creates a bigger threat.”

It's now a full week on the training pitch for Siewert with the squad ahead of Arsenal's visit to HD1 next Saturday.

"I'm looking forward to having Saturday to Saturday with the players. It is a difficult situation, but I have to face it and I like to have this opportunity. We are still positive."

One positive of the afternoon saw the trio of Isaac Mbenza, Philip Billing and long-term absentee Aaron Mooy all take their place in the starting XI.

"I'm very glad to have all three of them back. They left their hearts on the pitch, but after a 5-0 defeat we are all disappointed.

"There were some positive moments in the game, but the fans have the feeling that we are consistently getting better."
