Just 12 months ago a local businessman had an idea to support his favourite football team, and now that idea has become Huddersfield Town’s official biscuit!
Jason Hartley got in touch with Huddersfield Town’s Marketing Team a year ago with the intention of supporting the squad through his local business Hartley’s Bakers & Confectioners.
After working hard with a team overseas to produce the personalised cookie cut out and packaging designs, the all new biscuits are now readily available for peckish Town fans.
The new cookies, that sport the Terrier badge, are now obtainable through Hartley’s bakeries and at the Club’s retail outlets.
Hartley explained the thought process behind creating an official Huddersfield Town biscuit and how he brought the idea to life!
“I am a lifelong supporter of the club and when the updated Terrier logo was launched, I instantly loved it.
“As I sat in the stands at games, I thought it could be made into a biscuit, and if it could be (as a Huddersfield baker and a fan), I ought to be the man to try it.
“I never imagined I would be working on a project for the club, but the sense of inclusivity and community around the club in the last few years gave me the confidence to approach the club with my idea.
“I have spent hours testing moulds, adjusting recipes, and sorting the packaging. It has truly been a labour of love, but to see it finished, and to see the product for sale at 'my' club, and to see Huddersfield Town fans enjoying them - will fill me with an enormous sense of pride and satisfaction.”
The biscuits are available for just £1.50 at the Club’s retail outlets and also at Hartley’s Bakeries in Lindley and Brighouse.
