Huddersfield Town travel South to take on Charlton Athletic on Tuesday 10 December in the Sky Bet Championship at The Valley; 7.45pm kick off.
Danny Cowley’s side will be hoping to get back to winning ways following the weekend’s defeat to Leeds United at the John Smith’s Stadium.
The game is the second in the space of four days for the Terriers, before a trip to Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
Town’s last away win at Charlton Athletic came in September 2013 as the Terriers left 2-1 winners thanks to first-half goals from Harry Bunn and Emyr Huws.
THE OPPOSITION
After three seasons in the third tier of English football, Charlton Athletic returned to the Sky Bet Championship following last season’s dramatic last-minute win in the Sky Bet League One Play Off Final against Sunderland.
Lee Bowyer’s side started off 2019-20 in good form, going unbeaten in their first six games, winning four of them in the process.
However, the Addicks have been troubled with a number of injuries to their First Team squad in recent games, which has seen an unfortunate change in fortune for the side.
Going into Tuesday’s game, Charlton sit 17th in the table.
ONES TO WATCH
Macauley Bonne
The 24-year-old forward signed for Charlton in June 2019 following two years at Leyton Orient, helping propel his former side to the Football League with 24 League goals in 2018-19. He scored his first goal for The Addicks in September as they beat Leeds United 1-0. He followed that up by scoring four goals in his next five games. Bonne has six Sky Bet Championship goals to his name so far.
Conor Gallagher
Midfielder Gallagher was another summer addition to Lee Bowyer’s side after signing on loan for the 2019-20 season from Chelsea, with the move to The Valley being the first taste of senior football for Gallagher. Charlton’s No.11 has adapted well to life with The Addicks, scoring his first goal for the Club on his home debut in August in Charlton’s 3-1 victory over Stoke City. He has also appeared for England at U21 level this season following his good displays at Club level.
Jason Pearce
Pearce has been with The Addicks since August 2016 after leaving Wigan Athletic. He was appointed Charlton’s team captain in 2018. Pearce was an important part of the squad which achieved promotion back to the second tier of English football last season, making 28 appearances in the process.
