It may not have been a classic for 89 minutes, but this week’s ‘Flashback’ revisits Town’s important win at Stoke City that kick-started life under the Cowley brothers!
The game was a scrappy affair for the large majority, but Town found a way to record an important first win of the season late in the evening when Juninho Bacuna slammed home his first of the season to send the away following into raptures!
That win was the first of the season for the Terriers, and a first win under the newly appointed Cowley brothers.
Form dramatically improved thereafter, with wins over Hull City and Barnsley – combined with draws at Blackburn Rovers and against Middlesbrough – securing the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month award for Danny Cowley!
The goal was a real moment of quality too, with Bacuna working his way into the box with a smart one-two before smashing between the goalkeeper and the near post.
