How did they get on last season? When does the new campaign start? How can I watch Town’s Women’s Team this year? We’ve got all you need to know about Town’s Women’s side ahead of the 2019/20 season!

2019/20 marks the start of a new chapter for the Team who replaced the ‘Ladies’ with ‘Women’ this summer, meaning this year’s campaign will be their first as Huddersfield Town Women.

Manager Ashley Vickers will lead the team once again, as they compete in the FA Women’s National League Northern Division; the third tier in the women’s English football pyramid.

The side finished fourth in the league last season totalling 47 points from their 24 games, leading to both their highest ever league finish and points total at that level.

They also progressed to the Fifth Round of the SSE Women’s FA Cup before going out to FA Women’s Super League side, West Ham United, as well as going the furthest they’ve ever gone in the League Cup and reaching the Sheffield FA Women’s Challenge Cup Final.

This time around, they’ll be pushing to go even further in all competitions and have added plenty of new faces over the summer to strengthen the squad.

Defender Beth Stanfield and defensive midfielder Lauren Griffiths have both joined from Guiseley Vixens whilst Georgia Marshall and Lois Scholefield have made the move from Doncaster Belles.

Town Women have also added last season’s FA Women’s National League Division One Player of the Year Leah Embley to the squad from Burnley FC Women along with Lauren Joyce from Sheffield United.

Most recently, Welsh international goalkeeper Olivia Clark has signed for Ashley Vickers’ side from Lincoln City as well as Scotland Under-19 international Charlotte Newsham, who has joined the Club on loan from Manchester United.

The newest Terriers will have an opportunity to make their Town debuts when the season gets underway with the league opener at home to AFC Fylde on Sunday 18 August 2019.

An FA WNL Cup tie against Nottingham Forest Women follows before three fixtures in eight days to kick-off September against Loughborough Foxes, Hull City and Stoke City, as the league campaign gets into full swing.

Ahead of those games, the Terriers have completed their pre-season schedule over the last month facing the likes of Chorley FC Women, Leeds United Ladies and Liverpool FC Women.

With pre-season done and dusted, all eyes are now on Town Women’s first game of the new season as they open their FA Women’s National League Northern Division campaign by hosting AFC Fylde Women at their Stafflex Arena home on Sunday 18 August 2019.

Entry is priced at £5 for adults, £3 for concessions with kids going FREE for the season opener!

Make sure you get down to the Stafflex Arena (HD8 0WA) at the weekend, and throughout the season, to support Huddersfield Town Women!

As well as that, make sure you keep up to date with the team’s progress this season by following them on social media; @HTAFCWomen on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
