Huddersfield Town winger Rajiv van La Parra has thanked the fans for all their support in the early weeks of the season and insists it gives him “more energy” to perform on the pitch.

Rajiv has made just two appearances off the bench in Town’s first four games of the campaign.

Despite his limited game time, the Town fans have shown the Dutchman plenty of support and it’s something that Town’s number 17 hugely appreciates.

“For me, it’s a really big thing. I’m really thankful to the fans, the support they have showed to me has been unbelievable and I can’t explain how grateful I am that they are behind me.

“It gives me more energy and more power – I want to do the best for them. I want to pay them back for the love and support.

“Hopefully I’ll get more game time to show them that I really appreciate the support and I will give everything for the Club - I will give 1000 percent.”

The winger will be targeting more game time under Caretaker Head Coach Mark Hudson who held his first training session with the squad at PPG Canalside on Monday (19 August 2019) morning.

“He came in this morning; we had a meeting and he was really positive in the way he spoke to us. He had a vision and he wants to bring it to us.

“He gives us a new energy and he is the right person now to lift us up and to get us the good results.”

Under Mark’s guidance, Rajiv and the squad’s focus is now on Wednesday night’s trip to the Welsh Capital to face Cardiff City in the Sky Bet Championship.

“He’s (Mark Hudson) trying to prepare us the best he can for the Cardiff game and after that it’s up to us.

“I think we will need everyone for this game, and he will know the best players to start this game. I’m really looking forward to working with him.

“They are known for the way they play; a lot of long balls. It’s good if you know how a team play.

“I think they are also in a difficult period, hopefully we can get a good result what the fans deserve.”
